Cairo,
Giza Cairo, the capital of Egypt, is located by the River Nile, 15 km
south of the area where the river divides into the two streams of
Damietta and Rosetta and the beginning of the Nile delta. With an
estimated population of just over 20 million ,it is one of the largest
cities in the world. It is the cultural, political, administrative,
industrial, and tourist centre of not only Egypt, but all the Middle
East.
Welcome to the vivid capital of Egypt The oldest part of the
Cairo is situated on the flat country between the River Nile, and the
Muqattam Mountain on the east bank.
From here the city has spread
approximately 35 kilometers north and southbound along the Nile. At the
western bank it has spread down to the Giza Pyramids
The Nile
islands of Zamalek and Roda are a completely integrated part of the
city.Along the Nile you will find modern skyscrapers and luxury hotels,
while the old city with its narrow streets, and the religious university
Al Azhar, are to be found only a few kilometers away.
The climate in
Cairo is warm, dry and pleasant compared to other Middle Eastern
cities. This has made the city a popular refuge for Persian Gulf Arabs
during the summer

Sharm ElsheikhEgypt is host to some of the
best beaches with an all-year-round pleasant atmosphere of warm clear
waters and white sandy shores. Offering a number of fantastic diving
locations, which are also ideal for snorkeling, there are a wide variety
of water sports, deep sea fishing, parasailing etc.
Sharm el-Sheikh
is a very different resort community for Egypt, more like one might find
in Europe, or even the US. Many of the main resorts are connected by a
"boardwalk", which allows one to walk along a path bordered by shops,
restaurants, clubs and hotels. There is excitement in the air here,
particularly in the evenings when various entertainment cascades down
the walk, and it seems like the crowds walking along speak in dozens of
different languages.
The main beach areas at Sharm el-Sheikh itself
comprise two adjacent bays, known as Na'ama Bay and Sharm al-Maya, the
former being the most popular with its renowned boardwalk. Here, hotels
are just separated from the beach by the boardwalk, with some facilities
such as beach front restaurants and bars built on the beach itself.
Sharm al-Maya offers a more serene hideaway with the slightly more
isolated beach resorts
However, if one
wants it all, from the Hard Rock Cafe to the JAZ Mirabel Beach Resort,
from beautiful reefs and crystal waters to almost a Las Vegas style
atmosphere, then Sharm el-Sheikh has to be the Egyptian beach resort of
choice. It is a world class spot to launch scuba diving expeditions,
with crystal clear waters and many nearby dive sites.
Sharm is famous
throughout the world as the "City of Peace", a very secure area where,
not infrequently, world leaders, attending summits, mix with the beach
vacationers, and one need not simply be limited to beach activities and
world class scuba diving.
There is also, thirty-five miles north of
Sharm, the Nabq Protectorate, the largest coastal park on the Gulf of
Aqaba, which includes the world's most northerly mangrove forest.
Sharm
El-Sheikh, with its sun, sea and sand, is one of the most accessible
and developed tourist resort communities on the Sinai Peninsula. Sharm
El-Sheikh is home to eight of the Travco Group’s hotels and resorts; JAZ
Mirabel Beach, JAZ Mirabel Park, JAZ Mirabel Club, Iberotel Club Fanara
& Residence, Iberotel Palace, Iberotel Lido, Sol Y Mar Sharming
Inn, JAZ Belvedere most of which are directly situated along the beach
Further
up the eastern coast of the Sinai, about 85 kilometers north of Sharm,
is Dahab. At one time, Dahab had a bit of a reputation as sort of a
hippie haven, which time has not completely erased, though it now has
grown up and matured into more of a traditional beach resort. There are
still beach camps here, but there are now also some good hotels, Italian
restaurants and other trappings of tourism. There is a mixed variety of
accommodations along a paved beachfront path most importantly the
Iberotel Dahabeya.
Taba itself is a few hundred meters of beach, and
only one real luxury hotel, the Taba Hilton which was recently heavily
damaged by a bomb attack. Taba sits on the Egyptian-Israel border. In
fact, one of the most renouned hotels in this area is the Sol Y Mar Sea
Star
Further up the coast between Nuweiba and Taba are a number of
small beach camps, some of which, while having fairly primitive
accommodations and amenities, nevertheless front exotic and beautiful
beaches with stunning blue water. These include, beginning from the
south, Maagana beach, Ras Shaitan and Mahash. Maagana Beach is located
about eight kilometers north of Tarabeen (the northernmost part of
Nuweiba). Ras Shaitan is another two kilometers north of Maagana. Of
these beaches, Mahash, about twenty kilometers north of Nuweiba is by
far the most developed, though still a beach camp for the most part.
Here, Basata is an eco-minded camp with about 18 huts and a common
kitchen, but there is also now the Tango Beach Resort, a four star hotel
with 64 rooms. Mahash is about twenty kilometers north of Nuweiba.
Finally, a bit further north, about 35 kilometers south of Taba is Bir
Sweir, which is also a small hut style camp.
Egypt has many beach
districts in the Red Sea area including Hurghada, one of the most
popular resort destinations. With its crystal clear water, you can enjoy
a dip or simply relax in the sun and tan, or enjoy the water sports
such as scuba diving and windsurfing. Madinat Makadi is a new and
fashionable destination in the Red Sea Riviera only 30 km away from
Hurghada International Airport. Makadi Bay has a beautiful long beach
with a spectacular house reef, and offers ideal conditions for a holiday
resort with an ideal setting for pure relaxation.
Madinat Makadi
covers 4.2 million square meters of developments including 8 hotels in
the 4 and 5 star categories with international clientele are there to
fulfill your holiday dreams. With such a great variety of hotels, an
all-inclusive stay, family clubs, luxurious suites and deluxe hotels
located directly on the beach, and offering various entertainment
programs, you will surely find one which meets your requirements. As for
the sports fans, we have built a Championship Golf Course and Academy,
and a Tennis Academy that is underway.
Madinat Makadi offers much
more in addition to the complex of hotels. Souk Makadi is at the heart
Madinat Makadi, in close proximity to all of the hotels, and consists of
a variety of shops, restaurants and entertainment outlets.
Wind down
and enjoy dinner at one of the JAZ Makadi Star & SpaIberotel Makadi
Beach, Iberotel Makadi Oasis, Iberotel Makadi Saraya Resort, Iberotel
Club Oasis, Sol Y Mar Makadi Sun, Sol Y Mar Makadi Marine, Sol Y Mar
Club Makadi before taking off on a desert safari. Another secluded Red
Sea resort is Marsa Alam, which is 210 km south of Hurghada. Once a
small fishing village, Marsa Alam is rapidly increasing in popularity,
and is especially renowned among diving and fishing enthusiasts; and
with the creation of the new airport, and the Travco plush developments;
Sol Y Mar Abu Dabbab and Sol Y Mar Solitaire the area is set to become
the up and coming “hot spot” on the Red Sea.
Madinat Coraya lies
within an untouched paradise of the Red Sea, known worldwide for its
astonishing emerald and turquoise waters.
Travco owns and operates
different hotels to choose from in Madinat Coraya like Sol Y Mar Solaya,
Iberotel Coraya Beach Resort, Iberotel Samaya Beach Resort, Iberotel
Lamaya Beach Resort all of which are renowned for their First class
service, comfortable and relaxed settings. The breathtaking colors of
the sea, the majestic mountain views, and the mysterious untouched reefs
and marine life are just some of the aspects of your unforgettable
holiday at Madinat Coraya. Another fact worth noting is that a nature
reserve stretches from here to Gebel Elba in the south. Alexandria also
offers some pleasant beaches, with full tourist facilities, from the
city centre outwards. In spite of miles of white sand beaches and azure
sea, there are also fine beaches all along the coast from Alex to Marsa
Matruh, a secluded bay with dear waters and a selection of villas and
hotels. At Travco’s Almaza Bay Resort in Marsa Matruh, the natural bay
and long white beach are perfect for good sunbathing and swimming in
calm translucent waters. In addition, the resort features a host of
recreation facilities and the five star developments of JAZ Almaza Beach
Resort.
Ain Soukhna Egypt has earned a wonderful reputation for its
pristine beaches and coastal waters. Ain Soukhna offers one of the best
opportunities for excellent deep-sea fishing. Ain Soukhna is famous for
the clear water and calming atmosphere that invite you to lie on the
beach all day and do nothing

Diving in Egypt
Once you start practicing scuba diving
it will be hard for you to give up this sport. You will certainly choose
to get better and better and you will start searching for beautiful
places for scuba diving. The existing variety of destinations for scuba
diving is practically endless and you will have a hard time taking a
decision. You will find that many places provide you with clear water,
great visibility and interesting things for you to see. One of the most
beautiful destinations when it comes to scuba diving is Egypt’s Red Sea.
Diving
in North Sinai The North Sinai coast stretches from Taba, the Israeli
border post, to the northern section of Ras Muhammad National Park at
Nabq. It encompasses the towns of Dahab and Nuweiba, and includes some
of the Gulf of Aqaba's finest dive sites. HighlightsHere you will find
some of the least spoiled reefs on the Egyptian coastline, with none of
the hustle and bustle of the more developed diving areas to the south.
Luxuriant coral gardens and sheer offshore canyons attract a dense
population of reef fauna, and the clear waters bring crystal visibility
to add to your diving pleasure.Marine LifeThe area's reefs are home to a
dazzling array of Red Sea reef species, from huge Napoleon wrasse to
tiny, glittering anthias. The range of pelagic species is also more than
respectable. In addition, sea turtles and dolphins frequent North Sinai
reefs, lending every dive the excitement of a possible encounter. The
reefs themselves are shining examples of tropical coral at its best,
with a vast, lush range of hard and soft corals including exquisite
table Acropora, Stylophora, massive Porites and Goniopora, fire coral,
low-lying cabbage coral, spiky elkhorn coral, graceful gorgonians and
pulsing Xeniid soft corals.AccessAccess to North Sinai dive sites is
almost exclusively from shore. This is partly a result of the prevailing
winds which, combined with the area's sheer coastline, make it
impossible for boats to anchor. However, since the best sites lie within
a few meters of the coastline this is not a problem.Dive Operators and
FacilitiesNorth Sinai hosts a number of professional dive operations.
The bulk of these are clustered in Dahab, the area's main resort town,
but others can be found in Nuweiba and even Taba. Most are of a high
technical standard, offering tuition through a number of certification
agencies and employing multilingual Western and Egyptian dive staff.
Jeeps or pickup trucks ferry divers to the dive sites, and a full range
of rental equipment is available
Diving in South Sinai Home to the fabled Ras Muhammad
National Park, the southern tip of the Sinai peninsula has fascinated
the world's diving population for decades. With dozens of world-class
dive sites, dedicated aficionados return year after year. Despite the
huge volume of diving traffic, the area still hides some virtually
undiscovered diving gems.Marine LifeFrom the tiny, glittering jewels of
basslets to the stately grandeur of a 1.5m (5ft) bumphead parrotfish,
these reefs encompass the full range of coral reef fishes. Sharks abound
in some seasons, with greys, hammerheads, blacktip and whitetip reef
sharks cruising along the coastal reefs, while other marine species such
as hawksbill turtles and even dolphins are frequently sighted.
Invertebrates such as octopus, cuttlefish and squid are also common.Best
known for its pristine walls of exquisite hard corals, South Sinai
offers an equal wealth of soft corals among its hugely varied repertoire
of reefs. With reef profiles ranging from sheer, undercut cliffs to
gently undulating coral fields, the area is a living encyclopedia of
tropical corals.AccessWith very few exceptions, organized diving in
South Sinai is done from dive boats which drop you off directly above
your chosen site and make access a simple matter of jumping overboard.
Trips are generally done on a two-dive per day basis, with a hot meal
cooked on board between dives. Many of the sites can also be accessed
form shore, and for the fully equipped, experienced diver with access to
a vehicle, this can be an excellent way of avoiding the crowds.
Dive Operators and FacilitiesSharm El
Sheikh boasts a large and growing number of dive centers of
international quality. Equipment, facilities and level of training are
all generally superb, and, with so much competition around, there is
enough pressure to keep standards high and prices reasonable.
Sharm
El Sheikh to Hurghada The clear blue waters between Sharm El Sheikh and
Hurghada hide some of the Red Sea's biggest surprises, such as stunning
reefs and mysterious shipwrecks, the legacy of the maritime trade that
has flowed through the region for millennia. Strewn across the Straits
of Gubal, gateway to the Suez Canal, the reefs of this region are as
rich in history as they are in natural beauty. This area includes dive
sites in Shaab Mahmud and Shaab Ali, the Straits of Gubal and Hurghada,
spread across 74km (40 nautical miles) of open sea between the tip of
Ras Muhammad and the Egyptian mainland at Hurghada. The sites can be
reached form either Sharm El Sheikh or Hurghada.HighlightsOne of the
real highlights of diving in this region are the well-preserved,
accessible shipwrecks that litter the seabed across the entrance to the
Gulf of Suez. At least six major wrecks lie in easy reach of Sharm El
Sheikh or Hurghada. There are 19th century mail steamers, modern cargo
ships and historic spice traders lying on the bottom of this stretch of
sea, all waiting to be explored.Marine LifeA combination of local
features like isolated reefs, big tidal movement and lack of nearby
intensive fishing, adds up to perfect conditions for reef and schooling
fish. Along with the large range of colorful reef species the area
boasts some big pelagics and some massive schools of gregarious species.
Sharks, even hammerheads, are regularly spotted here and sea turtles
are common. These reefs also offer some of the best chances in the
northern Red Sea to swim with dolphins in the wild. The range of coral
species is astounding, and while the occasionally rough sea conditions
in these open waters can cause some damage to the reefs, most of the
coral growth is in excellent condition. The area boasts some extensive
reef systems, incorporating branching Acropora, vast fields of cabbage
coral, bommies and outcrops of massive species such as Favites and
Porites and gently waving dendronephthiid soft corals.AccessThe vast
majority of the sites in the region lie some distance offshore and,
while most can be done as day trips from either Sharm El Sheikh or
Hurghada, a much more relaxing and enjoyable way to dive them is as part
of a short live-aboard trip. Dive centers in both Sharm and Hurghada
organize 'mini live-aboards' from one night to seven nights.Dive
Operators and FacilitiesBoth Sharm and Hurghada are packed with dive
centers. The vast majority of centers in both resorts are highly
professional, with excellent equipment, facilities and organizations,
and multilingual dive staff and instructors trained to the highest
international standards

lake was created by the construction of the Aswan High Dam. The lake
can supply a catch of up to 80,000 tons of fish per year (300 tons per
day!)“It is not just fishing, it is the whole place; the contrast
between the desert and the big lake with nothing between them. There is
no where in the world to compare. The fishing, too, is quite amazing”.
Overhead the sky is vast, bright blue and crystal clear, while the dark,
rolling water below spreads away to the horizon, where barren
rust-colored peaks rise up on the shoreline. The water is clean, fresh
and safe for swimming. If you are looking for solitude, silence and
space, Lake Nasser is the place. The extensiveness and silence are the
two things that strike you most strongly. This is one of Egypt’s remote
and wild places. The areas where we fish are extremely remote and wild
as well. The Lake Nasser Safari is a must for those who enjoy “getting
away from it all”. You will be completely cut off from all forms of
civilization. For those interested in more than fishing experience, Lake
Nasser boasts 17 Ancient Egyptian and Nubian temples. It is full of

crocodiles, and monitor lizards. For those who have a sense of
